Sixty Seconds with Your School: Bulletin May 2, 2021
May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. We are blessed to have Jennifer Santos, LCSW, CCTP, of Catholic Charities as a part of the Holy Ghost Team. This month, Ms. Santos and the teachers will continue discussing social-emotional wellness strategies in the classroom
and modeling best practices for students.
The Rams Soccer Team tied St. Christopher in the last game of the season, 2 to 2. Holy Ghost finished third in their division. We are proud of Coach Klotz and the Mighty Rams and will honor all athletes at a special luncheon on June 3.
Enrollment is still ongoing for the 2021-2022 school year. We have 137 students enrolled for next year and are aiming for 175. Please visit our website at www.holyghostschool.com for additional information or schedule a tour by calling Ms. Maya in the school office at 713-668-

Sixty Seconds with Our School
Last week we celebrated Catholic Schools Week. We are so thankful for our families, dedicated
teachers, and support staff. It’s because of these special people, we can fulfill the Holy Ghost
School mission and provide students with a rigorous academic curriculum and instill Christian
values through Catholic faith and service to the community.
Our 2021-2022 student registration is in full swing. Visit our website for additional information,
www.HolyGhostSchool.com. Be sure to check out our new video called Ancillaries, located on
the front page of the website under News. It showcases our amazing ancillary teachers. If you

The annual Archdiocesan Steps4Students 5K Fun Run will take place in conjunction with the
school’s Field Day on February 12 at the school (not January 12 as reported in last week’s
bulletin). This socially distanced day of athletics is a school fundraiser with all proceeds going
directly to Holy Ghost School. Students, staff, families, and donors are asked to register online
www.steps4students.org. All proceeds from the event will be used to purchase technology and
chrome books for the students. We need twenty-five more chrome books to reach our goal of
one to one for all students in grades first through eighth.
Please consider registering for the race. You do not have to participate to donate.
God bless and have a wonderful week.

Our first month in the new year has been busy! We are excited for our 8th graders who applied to Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese last week. Many of them will be continuing their Catholic education, and we are Holy Ghost proud!!
Thank you to the parishioners who partnered with the school for our Christmas Adopt a Family Program. The generosity of the church members and school staff allowed forty families to have gifts and meals for Christmas. Special thanks to Santa Claus for giving twenty bicycles to students for their holiday gift. God is good.
Catholic Schools Week is from January 31 through February 5. During that week, we celebrate Catholic Education. Student registration is open for the 2021/2022 school year, and we have information about Holy Ghost School on our website, www.HolyGhostSchool.com and on our Facebook page, Holy Ghost Catholic School.
