Great opportunity for all high school students, grades 9-12, to expand your circle of friends within the Holy Ghost Catholic Community by participating in the Holy Ghost Youth Group. Joining this group will suport your high school experience both spiritually and socially. Being a youth of Holy Ghost makes you a part of a growing community of high school youth that meet weekly to share faith, fun and friendship. The youth attend several area high schools: Lee, Bellaire, Sharpstown, St. Agnes, Cristo Rey, Westside High, Strake Jesuit and others.
The youth meet in the Gym weekly on Friday from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. The current quarterly calendar is posted below on this site and should be reviewed for specific schedule and activities. Also, please contact Jo Scalise at one of the numbers listed above.
The youth participate in a wide variety of activities, such as: Game Night, Pray and Play Sessions, Movie Night, Community Service, Bowling, Dynamo Games, Fundraisers, Mini-Retreats, Lock-ins, and the Annual Archdiocesan Youth conference (AYC). The AYC gathers over 1200 participants each year during the summer and is a major evangelizing event for youth. This weekend event challenges youth to live out their faith, learn from exciting and informative presentations, experience the diversity of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and make new friendships.
Being part of Youth Group also mainstreams you into sharing your talents with our faith community during the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Bazaar, Christmas Nativity Program or as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Cantor, Choir or instrumentalist for Sunday and special youth liturgies.
No formal registration is necessary. All students are welcome and encouraged to bring a friend. Parents are also invited to join the first meeting their teen attends to learn more about this wonderful group of faith filled teensgers.
You are invited to come and learn more about Holy Ghost Youth on any Friday night meeting. Also, a special invitation to all graduating 8th graders will be held in late May. Please see the Parish Bulletin for special announcements. Please plan to come and enjoy!
If you are a young adult (21 years or older) or parent and would like to learn more about how you can support our youth, the "future of our faith", please contact one of the youth leaders listed above.
